Each month, the Rostrum team gets together for our ‘Hit of the Month’ and ‘Bit of the Month’ competitions as a way of celebrating all our hard work and achievements. Our account teams nominate a piece of coverage (‘hits’) or activity (‘bits’) that they are particularly proud of from the month and the winners are selected for each category based on how well the results meet the needs and briefs of our clients. It’s also a great chance for us to get together as team and share best practice and top tips, which help with the next month’s activity. Without further ado, the winners for September are:

Hit of the Month winner: ICIS’ Navigating Net Zero research in City A.M.

September was a strong month for coverage across all of our account teams, making our Hit of the Month award fiercely contested. However, after considerable deliberation, our ICIS team were crowned the winners for their fantastic coverage of the ICIS Navigating Net Zero research in City A.M. The team generated a full write up of the research in the print, digital and online editions of the paper.

The piece covered the data from the campaign launch, suggesting that the UK is leading the way when it comes to climate transparency. The research gathered the views and insights of 1000+ chemicals and energy sector executives across the world. 71% of respondents in the UK said they had publicly stated climate targets in place to hold them accountable for the transition to net zero, streets ahead of those in Germany of which only 15% said they had such targets. Linking the research to COP26 made it extremely timely and topical, driving the write up as well as a national byline opportunity in The i too!

Congratulations team ICIS!

This month, we also had another ‘hit’ that was highly commended. Team Yorkshire Building Society launched The Nation’s Nest Egg report, looking at Britain’s savings shortfall. It found that despite the pandemic causing many to increase their savings, most adults still need an extra £7,220 to feel financially secure. The team did an amazing job getting a full article on the research published by the BBC – definitely worth a special mention! Well done to all.

Bit of the month winner: Fantastic client feedback for the EY Fast Growth campaign

September’s Bit of the Month award recognised the fantastic work by team EY for the recent Fast Growth project, a survey exploring fast growth businesses across the UK to gain a deeper understanding of their confidence levels in the economy and their perception of their growth potential heading into 2022.

Rostrum’s PR and design teams worked together closely to produce a full campaign report, social media content, stakeholder blogs and video interviews. This was a massive team effort, involving lots of moving parts and utilising a range of Rostrum’s services. The client was thrilled and shared some brilliant feedback for the team, so well done to all involved!

As always, our winners get to choose their prize. They can either play it safe and take a £10 Deliveroo voucher, or they can spin the wheel of fortune for the chance to double the voucher to £20 or risk coming away with a banana. This month, both teams spun the wheel, with team ICIS winning a pair of socks, and EY taking home a bottle of bubbly each.

Congratulations again to all our amazing winners!
