As ever, the team has been working hard to generate fantastic results for our clients across the business. In this post we’ll be taking a closer look at some of Rostrum’s highlights from February 2023 – from creative design solutions to thought leadership articles and profile-raising opportunities. Let’s dive in!

Coverage

The Legal & General account team secured an insightful profile piece for Trudy Woolf, Sustainability Director at L&G Surveying Services, in The Sun. Generated off the back of a press briefing, the article helps to educate consumers on the importance of having a home buyers survey while positioning Trudy as a trusted industry commentator. You can read the full piece here.

Known as ‘ISA season’ in the personal finance world, the period from February to April is notoriously competitive when it comes to generating coverage on savings and investments topics. Thanks to the team’s strong relationships with the media, Times money reporter, George Nixon, knew that he could come to Rostrum for urgent commentary when the Bank of England released its latest ISA data. Gatehouse Bank spokesperson Ravi Kumar was able to provide expert insights into cash ISAs and the current market trends – with coverage featuring both online and in print. Read it here.

Each month, the LMS team prepares a market snapshot looking at trends in remortgaging. The latest edition generated interest from FTAdviser, with the publication keen to receive more in depth analysis. A quick turnaround from the team resulted in a full write up of the data exploring borrowers’ remortgage behaviours and including quotes from LMS’ CEO. Take a look here.

Design

The Rostrum design studio worked closely with client Akin to produce three new concept led creatives for projects spanning Energy Transition, Special Situations and ESG in February, to coincide with a new brand launch. This was a comprehensive storytelling project to be built on digital, interactive publishing platform Shorthand. Read more about how we create dynamic stories for our clients on Shorthand, here.

Events

Earlier in the month, Rostrum and law firm Lewis Silkin hosted an interactive crisis workshop. Rostrum’s Grant Bather, in conjunction with Oliver Fairhurst from Lewis Silkin, took audiences through the PR and legal response to a crisis. Combining theory and practical examples with a ‘live’ scenario and interactive surveys, the attendees included MHR, MQube, Gatehouse Bank, CapitalRise, ASOS, Britvic, John Lewis and Twitter.

Sophie Placido, Director of PR & Strategy, was a guest speaker at Stonebridge Mortgage & Insurance Network’s National Conference in Birmingham. Here, she discussed the potential opportunities that TikTok represents for brokers looking to reach the next generation of homebuyers, and dispelled some common myths and misconceptions about the app.

Meeting journalists

Media and journalist relationships are a huge part of our work at Rostrum, so each month we celebrate a ‘meeter of the month’ – someone from the team who goes the extra mile to build meaningful relationships with journalists.

Rostrum team members, Pete and Aaron, attended a Roxhill webinar with Dan Thomas, Chief UK Corporate Correspondent at the FT, and Lianna, Rostrum’s newest Account Executive, met with Jake Carter, reporter at Mortgage Introducer.

In-house promotions

And finally, in February we celebrated not one, but two Rostrum promotions as Nick Andrews and Priya Bilkhoo were both promoted to Senior Account Manager – congratulations!
