Rostrum has expanded its media training capabilities with the launch of a new transatlantic training offering.

Hosted in conjunction with New York agency, Meir Kahtan Public Relations (MKPR), the bespoke online media training encompasses an overview of the media landscape (UK and US), what makes ‘news’, and the key considerations for both proactive and reactive journalist engagement.

The training is tailored to each organisation and industry. Issues and reputational management concerns are also covered within the session, including how to tackle tough questions and how to move the discussion along when needed. The training has been specifically designed to give each spokesperson confidence in their media messaging. Each session includes a practical, filmed element that is used to provide specific feedback for each attendee.

Grant Bather, Senior Media Relations Consultant at Rostrum, said: “It is vital that every business has a credible, compelling and concise message for the media. Every company has a story to tell – and we want to help to define and refine this messaging so that key spokespeople can elevate themselves and their brands to new audiences, whether that be trade, online, national, broadcast or podcast.”

Meir Kahtan, founder of MKPR, added: “Given the expansion of UK companies into the US market and vice versa, it’s increasingly critical for spokespeople from one side of the Atlantic to understand the journalistic styles and approaches of the other. Our media training sessions go into the practicalities of US/UK media interviews and help to ensure that spokespeople can speak with courage and conviction about the topics that are central to their business strategies.”
