Exquisite food from Michelin-starred chefs, throwback music and free champagne in the backdrop of Chiswick House and Gardens – what more could you want from a Friday night?

This is what we at Rostrum were asking ourselves after attending the Pub in the Park Chiswick event earlier in September. The event, created by chef Tom Kerridge, aimed to create the ultimate pub garden party and it certainly had a good go at doing just that.

With music from Razorlight and Gabrielle, there was many a chance for a singalong with the hundreds of other people also attending the event, while Q&As with chefs like Rick Stein gave the event a personal feel that made it all the more special.

Alongside the music and chefs was the food and drink which, as you can imagine, was of a world-class standard. From fried chicken wraps to seafood croquettes, there was something for everyone and it all looked (and tasted) delicious, while the premium beer and cider being served ensured everyone was merry by the time live music started.

All in all, it was a fantastic event that I would fully recommend experiencing if you’re a fan of world-class pub food and drink and 90s throwback music. The fact that the music in the office on the Monday after was mostly Gabrielle is a sign of how good the music and atmosphere was. And I don’t think tickets for next year will be too far out of reach…
